Plaza Enhancements
Capuzzi Consulting Group staff served as Project Manager (Matt Capuzzi) for the plaza enhancements within Kimball Park. The project goal was to “open up” the area between the three (3) baseball fields. Improvements included new restrooms, the removal of old scorekeepers’ structures, trees, picnic tables, new hardscape, and stormwater BMPs.

Skate Park
Capuzzi Consulting Group staff served as Project Manager (Matt Capuzzi) for the new Skate Park in Kimball Park. The project was designed for “street” skating and an expert was included on the team for the design elements within the skate park. The improvements included a DG trail along Paradise Creek, picnic tables, sidewalk connections, rock scape, stormwater BMPs, an extended height home run fence to protect riders from baseballs, and lighting for nighttime riding.

Paradise Creek Restoration
Capuzzi Consulting Group staff served as Project Manager (Matt Capuzzi) for this urban waterway restoration project within Kimball Park in National City. The project included the removal of the concrete lined channel, restoration of the creek bed, native landscaping resilient to brackish waters, two large retention basins to hold back the flow into the creek, and extensive rip-rap to dissipate the energy in the flow of water into the basins. As part of this project, the existing pedestrian bridge that crosses Paradise Creek was restored and new pedestrian pathways were constructed to connect the sidewalk along E. 16th Street to the bridge.
